The road to study and excel in PSLE is a long one and you have to really set your aim and keep motivate yourself to excel, Not even your parents can do these for you, as the Chinese sayings goes, "I can lead you the path, but you have to walk it yourself."
Now when you are slowing down, check yourself for the 3 powerful setback forces and conquer them so that you will score in PSLE.
1) Laziness
There are always times when you want to relax a bit and enjoy the finer things in life. Well, you can enjoy free time if you had finished all your daily routine work. So the ability to do work quickly and neatly is one powerful tool students should try to cultivate.
Time management tips
1) Find more time by using the toilet time, travelling time and silent reading time to consume studying materials.
By fully utilizing your "Free" time you could save up more than 1 hour a day of studying time.
Before some examination start do prepare material to study and read especially for your oral examinations, some students have up to 4 hours to study and yet I observed most just wasted the time on whispering and nothing else. That is such a waste of time.
2) Cut down on play time, handphone usage time and gaming time, to quickly finish up all your work.
1 hour per week of play/handphone/game time is good to start.
On the other hand, do exercise 1 hour a week to keep your physical body fit.
3) Keep to your schedule daily so that you can achieve your aim, too far behind your schedule is the same as admitting defeat. Winner don't wait for the tides to ride, they prepare themselves, upgrade themselves and
take the opportunity shifty to ride the tides and be successful.
Lazy people are not bad, but success is very very far reaching for them, so if you join them you are just going to be "like that"
Your daily routine work:-
1A) School work must be carefully done so the the teachers can see your progress.
1B) Tuition work could be a great help but please make sure you do not overstretch yourself as some tuition work really do not need to be done or fully completed, or the work could be quickly done.
1C) extra drill papers like past year test papers should be avoided if you do not intent to go through the questions and answers, studying them so that you have a good understanding of the examination paper. Past year paper is only useful as a gauge of your potential result. Some Schools do Mock tests before examinations for the same reasons, so that parents and students have a rough estimate of the students potential result.
