Now most children either did not bother to set a target or did not bother to think of some actionable ways to achieve their targets. This is so sad as they are set to fail if they did not plan to win.
This is a famous saying:-
So to get the result you desires, you have to decide on the following things about planning, Firstly, What targets to set is reasonable for you? Yes there is no point setting a target 3 grades above your grade unless you are willing to really set 3-7 hours everyday to work towards your target. What I am saying is its not impossible, but its a 1 in a thousand chance you are that hardworking for the whole year daily.
Secondly, check if you target is measurable, that is it is a number or grade that you can obtain or achieve. If its to reach for the sky, you need to set a target like "I can travel to 2 kilometers to 100 kilometers above sea level so that i can reach the level of the cloud is." So setting a target like " I want to achieve Grade A in Chinese" rather than " I want to get good result in Chinese."
Thirdly, What actions are required to achieve it and what smaller milestones to set to reach the big target?
The third thing is a target is you need to put up at least 5 actionable things to do. Here I will list out some of the common actionable things to do to improve Chinese/English Language.
1) Study last year's spelling again and every day and do self test to make sure I understand those words.
2) Study this years spelling every day and do self test to make sure i understand those words.
3) Listen to all the chapters of last years textbook again daily in http://xuele.moe.edu.sg/xuele/slot/u107/index1.html
4) Listen to all the present chapter in the textbook daily in xuele.
5) Read aloud and record the words in every chapters of last years' textbook in a handphone recording program daily.
6) Read aloud the chapter that I am learning now daily.
7) Read a composition from a composition book every day.
8) copy a paragraph from a composition out of a composition book every day.
9) circle the good phrases from a compostition out of a composition book and compile a good phrase book.
10) take the good phrases book and do a 5 phrase spelling every day.
11) listen to Hello Singapore Chinese News site. watch one episode every day. http://video.toggle.sg/en/hello-singapore-6156072
12) Watch one episode and write doen the main point of the news and practice telling someone the news daily.
13) Tell someone a story daily.
14) write down your story in schools daily, omit all the commonly happened events and focus on writing on something Special.
15) Read Stories to someone daily.
Take a page from the above 15 item list and do up a actionable plan.
Lastly, Take a calendar and fill up ONE actionable item every day.
